Influence of different air distribution on ventilation effectiveness in negative pressure hospital wards

چکیده
Hospital ward is one of non-negligible potential places to occur cross-infection among patients and health workers. Air-borne transmission was regarded as the main infection route SARS-CoV-2. Preventing air-borne should be a significant measure, which could effectively mitigate risk virus infection. Based on those consideration, in this study, influence different types air distribution ventilation effectiveness modeled through Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) simulations. Several typical negative pressure wards same Wuhan Thunder God Mountain hospital conformed Chinese National Health Commission (NHC) guidelines were modelled. We simulated locations supply inlets, analysed buffer door compared contaminant concentration entry for The results show that required by NHC retain directional airflow from bed-zone toilet, also has better accessibility air, workers are safer avoid standing closed exhaust outlet downstream area pollutants during rounds.

Microbial Profile of Air Contamination in Hospital Wards
Background and Aims:Nosocomial infections cause considerable morbidity and mortality and pose high financial burden on healthcare systems. Although surface contact, surgical incisions, wounds and catheters are responsible for a high percentage of nosocomial infections, bacterial and fungal air contaminations in hospitals have an important role in development of hospital infections. The p...

The purpose of ventilation is dilute or remove indoor contaminants that an occupant is exposed to. In a multi-zone environment such as a house, there will be different dilution rates and different source strengths in every zone. Most US homes have central HVAC systems, which tend to mix the air thus the indoor conditions between zones. Different types of ventilation systems will provide differe...
متن کاملThe ventilation of multiple-bed hospital wards: review and analysis.
BACKGROUND Although the merits of ventilating operating theatres and isolation rooms are well known, the clinical benefits derived from ventilating hospital wards and patient rooms are unclear. This is because relatively little research work has been done in the ventilation of these areas compared with that done in operating theatres and isolation rooms. Consequently, there is a paucity of good...
